Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed the news that will sadden a lot of Sex and the City fans, but may also please lots of other people at the same time.
Parker, who played sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the series and two movies, quashed rumours that a third movie was in the works.
The 52-year-old told Extra: “It’s over. We’re not doing it.”
There had been rumours of a third instalment after Parker and the rest of the cast of Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon teased a new outing.
But these rumours were dispelled by Parker who went on to say: “I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story.
“It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
Parker had previously admitted in 2010 that she would be “okay” if a the franchise had come to an end.
